Why can't we all just be happy with who we are and be done with it?

I get so tired of worrying about what color everybody is and what can and cannot be said. I don't EVER see an end to racism in this country completely.

But you know what? I am tired of hearing so much bull shit about it. Black people feel oppressed by being black and white people feel guilty for being white. Who benefits from all of that?

Why can't black people feel proud to be black without feeling like they are oppressed? Why can't white people be proud of being white without feeling like they did something wrong?

But there is MONEY in racism on ALL sides. There is POWER too. But nothing ever seems to get resolved. It is frustrating.

I don't know, I am happy with being a white male. Some may say that I have no reason NOT to be happy about that and I suppose that argument has some merit. Even so, I am not going to live my life feeling guilty for being born as a white male either.

YOU SHOULDN'T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT BEING A WHITE MALE BUT THERE ARE ALOT OF BENEFITS YOU GET BY BEING ONE. YOU MAY THINK HERE ISN'T ANY DIFFERENCE BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG. NO, IT ISNT LIKE THE OLD DAYS BUT IF YOU THINK EVERYTHING IS EQUAL, THEN I THINK YOU SHOULD GO INTO AN PRODOMINATELY ETHNIC NEIGHBORHOOD AND SEE HOW COMFORTABLE YOU FEEL. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOU DON'T BELONG AND DIFFERENT. YOU WILL HAVE TO DO EXTRA STUFF TO MAKE PEOPLE IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD KNOW THAT YOU ARE AN OKAY PERSON. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.

Yeah, I will give you that one. However, the burden for acceptance isn't a one-way street either. If I am responsible to live an all inclusive life style then so should others be required to do the same.

I personally don't care what color a person is. What I DO care about is what KIND of person they are. You can be a white, black, hispanic, asian or other and if you are going to rape, steal, cheat, be lazy, sell drugs, prey on the young or any of the other crimes and socially immoral things, I don't want that person around me or my family.

Ludicrous & Eminem are equally destructive to our kids through their music...does anybody really care if they are black or white? Or do they care what that person is delivering to our youth?

I truly believe that at least between white and black Americans, there is much more that brings us together than keeps us apart. However, the politicians and the media thrive on the controversy and keeping us apart.

If white and black America joined forces JUST by what we hold in common, there would be little way the politicians could use us against each other. As it is, we argue trivial things when all we all want is to raise our children to be good citizens and live a good life ourselves. All those who want destruction and crime do no good to any of us. White or black.
